Where I'm From

I am from the deep woods where I find comfort, from North Carolina and a loyal Tar Heel fan.

I am from the second row of a Baptist Church, where you can hear the sound of praise from miles away

I am from the state of the Dogwood, and admire the buds of miniature roses which grow behind the house

I am from backyard barbaques and camping anywhere my heart desires, where the Dorsett's combine with the Caviness's, Atkinson's, and the Sullivan's, completing the family package.

I am from a very busy and family oriented family, we spend most of our time together, supporting one another through everything

From a difficult past at times, and faced struggles, but have overcome many, if not all of them.

I am from Durham, North Carolina, and I am part Irish, German, and Cherokee Native American.

From land that goes on for miles it seems, where I grew up and refused to wear shoes until I went to Kindergarten, where I rode my first four-wheeler. Where I shot my first deer, and got sick after watching my uncle clean it.

I am from the old trunk where all of the family secrets and heirlooms exist, all the letters from our family overseas in the military, all of my grandparents metals from the war, and new pictures of the wonderful family they have made!
